March is off to
a strong start
In English we often say that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. In Chinese the saying is that spring is like a stepmother’s face— alluding to the idea (no actual shade to step mothers!) that the weather is unpredictable and changes often.
I for one, can feel the daily fluctuations; the way not only the weather but my mood has followed in suit— fierce, excitable, energetic at moments and peaceful, calm, or lethargic in others.
Constant changes around us and within us make it all the more difficult to stick to routines. Knowing ourselves and where we can go to regroup in the midst of the winds of change can make all the difference.
Dance for me is that place of connection I can come back to time and time again to weathering whatever is happening.
