Check out my highlights of 2025!

ree

The countdown is on.

For many of us, we think of this moment as the countdown to a fresh start. We’re about to turn the page on a year that was no doubt filled with ups and downs in our own personal lives, for those around us, and in the world as a whole.

But before we take that step forward into the new year, l want to take a look back at what there is to celebrate: the smiles shared, the classes danced, and the lessons learned.

On my own part, two specific things stand out as the highlights of my year.

First was the incredible number of new students I welcomed into classes who were in their 70s and 80s. Teaching these classes made such a profound impact on me. It allowed me to see truly what health and wellness are really about: living life not just with more years, but with fullness. It is about joy and self-acceptance, learning new skills at any age, and connecting with people around us.  It is about appreciating what our bodies can do rather than focusing only on how they look.

The second notable accomplishment I want to celebrate is completing my certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching from Emory University Continuing Education. 🎓

I made the decision on January 1st of 2025 to pursue this because I wanted to help my clients and students create more sustainable habits and health behavior changes. The program taught me so much about the change process, my own health habits, and, most importantly, the power of listening and support on our health journeys. I look forward to taking the next step in working for my National Board Certification and completing an internship with a breast cancer organization in 2026!

There is so much more to learn and so many more dances to do. But for now, celebrating the resilience of getting through the year and all that has been experienced is at the top of the list.

And of course, that means celebrating having YOU as a part of my community.

Thank you for dancing, moving, and growing with me this year. You are the reason why our classes are so special and continue to spread happiness and health.

Here is to even more happiness, health, and joyful movement in 2026! 🥂

Happy New Year!

Keep moving!

xx,

Katie
