Power of perspectives

Hearing from you
keeps us moving!
In the past two weeks, we’ve been lucky enough to have newsletters featuring a student spotlight, Marijke, and a special guest writer, Anna. I personally love to hear people’s stories of life, dance, and inspiration. From the response to both of these newsletters, many others share the same sentiment!
There is so much power in hearing from different perspectives. When we take the time to listen to others, our worldview can only widen. We can surprise ourselves with how similar we are to seemingly different people. Whether someone hails from the Netherlands and is new to dance or they danced as a child in Taiwan, they can find a shared love for movement in our classes. Central to both of these stories and so many others I have heard, the assumption that one must be experienced or perfect quickly melts away in a Zumba or Fit + Flaunt Burlesque Fitness class. Additionally, the diversity of cultures and perspectives each student brings to class enriches all of time on the dance floor.
What story or perspective do you contribute to our community? As always, we’d all love to hear from you for a future student spotlight. Share your story here!
Finally, please remember there will be a few changes to the schedule in the next few weeks. There will be no class on 4/3 and 4/20 due to other work obligations and holidays. For those attending FD and TDC classes, the covid confirmation messages will now be replaced with a checkbox on your sign up forms. You will still receive a class pass through Line about your class reservation, and will only have to respond if you are cancelling your spot. Looking forward to dancing with you!
