Before you give up ... read THIS!

What have you quit in 2026 so far?
Maybe you have kicked an unwanted habit to the curb since January 1st, but what I'm really asking is: have you given up on your high hopes for the New Year yet?
I was surprised to learn last week that "Quitter's Day" is apparently a thing! It’s a term coined by a fitness tracking app that noticed most people give up on their resolutions by the second Friday of January!
Last week, we talked about ditching the "New Year, New Me" pressure in favor of a "New Year, New View." We started by simply noticing our mindset.
But noticing isn't enough if we don't know how to shift the narrative. That is where this week's tool comes in: The Power of "Yet."
I've honestly been needing this reminder a ton lately (and as per usual, I use these newsletters to focus on what I need to practice most!).
As I’ve been settling into a new apartment, I've been totally overwhelmed by all that isn't done. My internal monologue has been loud: "I have absolutely no talent for decorating. This place is never going to come together."
I've wanted to quit the process more than once.
But then I added one tiny word to the end of my sentence:
"It doesn't look the way I want it to... YET."
That tiny shift didn't magically transform my physical space, but it did open the door to possibility and patience in my mental space. Instead of feeling defeated, I felt resourceful. Because I realized I couldn't do it alone yet, I called a friend for advice on rugs and asked my partner to help me make a realistic timeline for some DIY projects.
"Yet" changes "I can't" into "I'm in the process."
It isn't about being delusional. It is about acknowledging that with time, effort, and patience, progress is possible.
If you are going to quit anything on "Quitter's Day," let it be the Fixed Mindset that says you can't learn new things.
"I can't follow these dance moves... yet."
"I don't feel strong... yet."
"I'm not a graceful 'dancer'... yet."
If you are still here, still trying, and still moving, let's celebrate that! You have already beaten the statistics.
See you on the dance floor (where we are all still learning)!
Keep moving!
xx,
Katie
