Taming the Holiday Fire: Why "No Time" is the Best Time to Move

Lunar Light Up IS ABout to Begin!



The Lunar New Year holiday is so close…



This week is all about bringing the heat while simultaneously bracing myself for navigating busy airports, long flights, and the actual freezing cold that awaits me in the US (Brrr!). 🥶



So far this month, we’ve talked about how the Year of the Fire Horse brings incredible energy. But as with every fire, there is also the potential for burnout. And to be real, nothing tests the balance of excitement and exhaustion quite like international travel!



But before I head off, I’m prioritizing being here.



I know that movement is the main tool I use to keep myself grounded. Even when my to-do list is a mile long and my suitcase has yet to be packed, taking the time to dance with you this week is what keeps my inner flame burning bright.



And I’m not alone. Just this morning, a student mentioned that with all her preparations for her Lunar New Year trip, she was this close to not coming to class.



And yet, she showed up.



She told me she reminded herself that it's exactly when you think you can't possibly find the time to do the workout that you know you need it the most.



After class, we celebrated her win. She left feeling energized, proud of her persistence, and ready to tackle her to-do list, rather than drained by it. That’s what I’d call Taming the Fire rather than letting the heated pressures of life burn you out.



So this week, I want you to make it as absolutely easy as possible to keep showing up for yourself. Come dance with us in person (and in red!) this week to celebrate Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day.



And when I do head to the airport on Sunday, I am not leaving you hanging!
